The APD
System is specifically designed for high viscosity polyester
putties. This NEW Glas-Craft system incorporates several
innovative design features that eliminate a number of
difficulties commonly associated with meter/mixing and
dispensing high viscosity putties.
The APD
uses a 23:1 ratio RAM pumping unit to proportion materials in
excess of 1,000,000 centipoise. The pump is equipped with an air
motor control valve to prevent static build-up of line pressure.
This will prevent the bursting of glass spheres. Normal
operating pressure range from 200 to 300 PSI.
With
high viscosity polyester putties, it is critical to have a
durable and accurate catalyst delivery. The APD does not use a
series of mechanical links that position the catalyst pump and
feed bottle directly over the drum of putty. The APD is designed
with a hydraulic cylinder attached to the RAM pump, which is
connected to a second hydraulic cylinder affixed to the catalyst
pump linkage mechanism. The catalyst pump is mounted on a mast,
not over the drum of putty. The hydraulic linkage eliminates
multiple pivot points that can reduce accuracy.
The APD
dispense gun has several unique features...
- Catalyst
is integrated with the putty from three directions prior to
entering the static mixers. This eliminates a "candy
cane" mix and also the lead/lag of catalyst when
starting and stopping the dispense.
- The
gun has solvent and air flush for quick and economical
cleaning.
- The
static mixer tube is connected with compression fittings so
it can be quickly disassembled for maintenance and routine
service.
- The
catalyst valve automatically opens, via an air signal, as
soon as the polyester putty valve is opened.
